Hotel San Michele - Anacapri (Isola di Capri)

Our newly renovated rooms were very clean & comfortable Our large terrace afforded breath taking water views The staff was responsive & courteous. They went out of their way to make you feel like a valued guest. The food was above average and prepared only with fresh seasonal ingredients. Reasonable priced. Free internet. The hotel provided free car service on departure to the port of Capri. I am so happy I was not influenced by old bogus reviews. Former New Yorker who knows a thing or two about accommodations & fine cuisine.

Overall a relaxing stay in September. Clean place with incredible staff and perfect view of the ocean and Mt. Unique suite, big beds. Amazing, magnificent location in the charming area. Walking distance to a small market and small markets across the street.

It is the first time post my opinion of the hotel in web. I've decided to do it because I'm 100% sure this hotel is value for money. What I liked during my stay: 1) I've booked an ordinary single room but I lived in the single room with side sea view and a balcony. The room was very small. But for me it was not important. Initially they have given me a bigger room on the first floor but without any balcony and any view; and they immediately have changed the room on my request. 2) The hotel is located in a nice and safe place in the town Anacapri (no noise and crouds of people). It is easy to get to any point of the island. Just near the hotel there is a bus stop and you may in 10 min reach by bus the center of Capri (the piazzeta). Other bus stops to Grotta Azzurra or Faro (excellent beaches in Anacapri with quolity restourants and not too many people) are 5 min by foot from the hotel. It takes 12 min to get to this beaches by bus. The shift lift (it is like a funiculer) to the top point of the island - Monte Solaro - is 5 min by foot from the hotel. Buses are available almost 24 hours (since 5 am till 4 am as I remember) and costs 1,6 euros to any direction. 3) There is a computer with a free internet access in the hall of the hotel. 4) Beautiful territory of the hotel - many bright exotic plants. Really beautiful building (both incide and outside), I like such style of architecture - not too modern. 5) And everything in the room is working well - shower, etc.

1) Breakfast is normal (yogurts, water, little cheese, simple but tasty cakes, tea, coffee, juices, bread - you can make toasts) but not too much choice (no meat or salads - only ham). But for me it was not critical. 2) If you want to do many things during each day - swimming in sea, visiting the town, shopping - it is not very convenient to live in this hotel. It is because you should use buses to get to the beaches (they are on the left of the hotel in a town Anacapri) and to the piazzetta (it is on the right from the hotel in the town Capri). 3) Small room and small shower - but, again, for me it was not critical.

Hotel needed to be knocked down and rebuilt.

Great view to Marina grande and the surroundings

The view and rooms with the terrace outside were awesome. Free breakfast and shuttle service. Excellent food by pool and in restaurants. Nice staff. No complaints

Strongly recommend for a break on long journey

Fine view, refreshing pool, attentive staff, with amazing vistas from our room's balcony that enhanced our stay and a warm, cute atmosphere, made us feel at home, complemented by the convenience of free parking for our rental car.

Could not be improved in any way.

Good location. Free shuttle from port was a big plus. The room was small but the terrace was very spacious and had a nice view.

The shower was very small and didn't drain quickly.

Location was excellent and free shuttle to Capri was very good. Breakfast was lovely and views from hotel were amazing. The staff were very helpful.

Our room was tiny and old but clean. We didn't have space to open our suitcase, only on the bed. This hotel was full of old people, not suitable for a young couple.

The pool was ideal for her to swim and make new friends while we enjoyed the fine views and a delicious breakfast. The bar downstairs was perfect for a relaxing nightcap, topped off with live music.

My kids wished there was a bit more for younger guests to engage with, like organized activities or family-friendly events.

The view is amazing. The staff answered all queries & assisted where possible.

Room was run down, glass door fell off its hinges. Sheets looked dirty. Have to pay to use pool facilities. Wifi service poor. Didnt feel this hotel was worth the cost.

Its location in the center of the island, at walking distances from the axel munth house as well as the beautiful church of San Michele in Anacapri, and at a short bus ride from active nightclubbing in Capri;

Charging 30 euros for an omelette and a soup seems a bit exxagerated even if it is served in a beautiful diner room with a magnificent view.

The pool area is fantastic. Two balconies in our fine room provided amazing views of the Bay of Naples. The bar downstairs had live music every night, bringing a great atmosphere to our stay!

The terrace overlooks the Naples gulf and is stunning. Shame they do not use it wisely. There is no bar to have a drink and only a couple of tables scattered randomly.

I've had a great stay in September. The location was marvellous and stunning in a pretty nice area, very close to the centre of Anacapri which has beautiful winding lanes and restaurants and Sorrento and all theses cities in the south of Italy and regular Capri.
